Viewtrak has pioneered a sophisticated Internet based solution for cattle producers to collect individual animal data linked to unique lifetime animal identification numbers. Nilsson Brothers Inc. and Viewtrak
Technologies have heard the call from the cattle industry to seize the opportunity to add value to the now mandatory identification of cattle via the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency. Both Viewtrak and Nilsson Brothers are excited to announce that the agreement includes a provision to obtain carcass-grading information on an individual animal basis from the XL Foods beef processing plants in Western Canada. Carcass grading information will be linked to unique animal identification and this data will be added to animal records within the Viewtrak system such that for the first time an entire animal lifetime record on production and management can be constructed.
“Today’s consumer demands food products which are of high quality and consistency, are safe to eat and have been produced in a responsible and environmentally sustainable manner.
